George Tzimpragos receives 2023 ACM SIGARCH & IEEE CS TCCA Outstanding Dissertation Award
George Tzimpragos, assistant professor of computer science and engineering (CSE), has received the joint 2023 ACM SIGARCH & IEEE CS TCCA Outstanding Dissertation Award for his contributions to temporal logic and architectures. His thesis, “Computing with Temporal Operators,” demonstrates how temporal computing can be practical and remarkably efficient both in established and emerging technologies. By leveraging this insight, Tzimpragos pioneers new ways to work with sensors and pulse-based devices, specifically superconducting.
The award was presented at the 2023 International Symposium on Computer Architecture (ISCA) this past June. Tzimpragos joined CSE in Fall 2022. Prior to coming to U-M, he earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
