ECE Pumpkin Drop Competition

All ECE students are invited to team up and join our pumpkin drop challenge! If you’re interested in participating, please review the information below before signing up. Questions can be directed to Ann Stals (amriggs). Good luck!

Team information:  
– Team registration is open until Friday, Oct. 20, at 12PM
– Confirmation emails will be sent to registered teams by EOD on 10/20
– Teams can pick up their pumpkins from 3305 EECS starting 10/23 at 8:30AM.
– The competition will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the EECS atrium

Rules: 
– No less than two students per team
– No more than four students per team
– At least one member of your team must be present at the drop on Halloween to remain eligible.
– No carving or physically altering the pumpkin in any way
– Teams may only use the supplies (list below) provided by ECE
– All modifications must be physically attached to the pumpkin

Event Details: 
– The competition will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the EECS atrium
– At least one member of your team must be present at the drop on Halloween to remain eligible.
– Teams will drop their pumpkin from the second floor bridge in the EECS building
– First place will be given to the team whose pumpkin does not smash.
– If multiple teams qualify then whoever’s pumpkin is closest to the bullseye in the target area will win first place, second place, etc.

Provided Supply List:
– One roll of duct tape
– Three yards of string
– 10 rubber bands
– Five plastic bags
– Five paper plates
– Three coffee filters
– markers (feel free to decorate your pumpkins)
